Special Powers

I was listening to a podcast this morning and a question was asked that if you could have a special power, what would it be? My first thought was to know what cries mean. I only say this because, the other day my granddaughter was screaming, but we could not find a reason why. My son said he saw a tinge of blood coming out of her mouth, and at first thought, we wondered if she had bitten her tongue while eating rice wafers. We were at the hospital because they had an ultrasound appointment and we decided to go home to their house. We had all driven separate vehicles and my daughter-in-law got home first, then I arrived, then my son. My granddaughter screamed the whole 5-10 minute ride home. We immediately got her out of the car seat and started to strip her down. We were wondering if she had some sort of injury or something going on that we could not see. After finding nothing on her at all, we focused more on her mouth. Would you believe that the poor girl had two teeth coming through at the same time? She was unusually attached to her sippy cup when mom picked her up. At the appointment, she was getting fussy so her dad offered her wafers. She was eating them so fast and hardly swallowing before she stuck another piece in and started chewing. We came to the conclusion that she had been chewing to relieve the pain in her gums, but the wafers probably made the gums break open quickly, causing the blood and painful scream. My son gave her pain medicine and a frozen teether. She calmed down after that and was fine.
How many of you have been in a similar situation? This is why, if I could, I would I choose the special power to know what a cry means when someone is not able to verbally tell us what is wrong. This could help so many babies as well as non-verbal children and adults who are experiencing pain and we can't figure out why. Of course this could be a very daunting task and would be a lot for one person to handle due to the number of people in the world. With any ability, there are pros and cons. The biggest pro is helping parents and doctor’s figure out what is wrong with their children. The biggest con is that I am only one person and would not be able to help everyone who needs it. That right there alone would almost make me not want to have any special ability at all. Of course, I am willing to help as many as I can, even without special powers.
After hearing my story, what special ability would you want? Would you want any ability at all or would you want to stay in the background and help support those who have an ability? The possibilities are endless.
