MicroSchools
Have you heard?!
There is a new form of education sweeping the country! Microschools are popping up all over — from large cities to small towns. Each one is unique and as different as your imagination can dream.
My Father's World has a dedicated team to support these new and unique learning environments and I'm excited to be a part of it. We support schools that have every grade level from kindergarten to high school. We support preschools that are laying solid foundations for young children. We support hundreds of one-room style classrooms where students have the opportunity to learn and lead right along with classmates of various ages. We support specialized agricultural schools (gardening, live-stock) and specialized fine-arts schools (music, drama, art).
Several times a year we offer a microschool training conference right here in Rolla Missouri at the beautiful Kabekona Hills Retreat Center. These are 2-day events packed full of great information, equipping those with a passion to give students a different and better educational experience. Lodging is onsite with arrivals typically the day before and departures the day after the 2-day training. Breakfast, lunch, lodging, and seminar attendance is included in the reasonable fee for the event — fees are based on accommodation requests. Attendees often bring co-leaders, spouses, or pastors with them as they build the microschool together.
At these events we share and provide things like:
- The history of education — how it has changed over the years, why we need to bring it back under the authority of God, and ways to do that.
- Our founders, David and Marie Hazell, share testimonies of how they have followed God's leading throughout the years. They also talk through the history of My Father's World and the beginnings of our onsite microschool.
- Discover where to find state regulations (if there are any) and what is needed to open the doors to your microschool.
- Microschool leaders from surrounding areas share their experiences — celebrating successes and sharing methods they use to combat challenges.
- There is a full curriculum display presented with the opportunity to have hands-on review as well as time allotted for specific questions.
- Development of personal contacts with like-minded leaders that have a passion to rescue children from the unsafe and insufficient educational options given to most students.
The pre-requisite to attend the conference is to watch this video series: Rescue the Children.
After watching the videos, please connect with us at the same link to let us know you are interested in more information about microschools and how you can join us in rescuing children and providing safe learning environments for all children.
In addition to all the information shared during the conference, you have the opportunity to meet our microschool team and spend time on the lake at Kabekona Hills Retreat Center. This is a time of refreshing as well as growth and we hope you will consider joining us this summer to learn more about starting a microschool in your area.
