Titan

Whenever I hear the word “Titan” I think of something massive or huge.  All my life I’ve been fascinated by big things.  18 wheelers, sky scrapers, and mountains, to name just a few.  Well, here at My Father’s World we have another thing that continues to capture my fascination.  That is our Canon varioPRINT 6000 Series TITAN printer. 

            The TITAN printer is a black toner, high production printer that lives up to its name.  The specific printer set up we have here is almost 29 feet from one end to the other.  It has 2 large capacity paper input modules that are able to hold up to 11,000 sheets of 8.5x11 copy paper, 2 finishers that can each hold up to almost 2 feet of finished printing, and an auto-feed booklet maker capable of producing saddle-stitched books up to 3/8” thick. 

            But it’s not just its size that makes it impressive.  It’s also the output it is capable of producing.  Most digital print machines can only lay an image on one side of the paper at a time.  When a sheet is double-sided it has to make a second pass through the machine to lay the image on the other side of the paper.  The TITAN is equipped with a twin engine system, allowing the paper to only make one pass through the machine to get images on both sides of the sheet of paper.  The paper travels from the paper input modules through the center of the machine and passes in the middle of the two engines.  As it passes through the engines, each one lays the appropriate image on the intended side of paper.  This doubles the speed of what other printers can produce images.

            Now, if all that wasn’t enough for it to earn its TITAN name, then the speed at which the paper is flowing through the machine really cements it.  Each TITAN is capable of being licensed at 3 different levels, basically a low, medium, and high speed.  Ours is licensed at the highest, which is 330 impressions per minute.  Meaning it can run 165 sheets of 8.5x11 paper every minute it is running.   

            Needless to say, this machine has been a game changer for us here at the print shop and for My Father’s World as a whole.  When the TITAN was introduced to us in 2019, we had 2 black toner machines on the floor to produce our volume for the year.  We went from 2 machines to 1 and rather than lose production, we are now producing over 100 impressions more a minute than we were with the previous machines.  It has been, and continues to be, a work horse.  The overall performance of this machine in the 6 years we’ve had it has been second to none.  It has required minimal maintenance, its paper jam rate is a fraction of any other machine we’ve ever had, and its image quality continues to be top notch this many years from its manufacturing date.  So, next time you open a one of our licensed products like a Teachers Manual, you know that the TITAN from My Father’s World brought that from text to print to your door.
