Getting Rid of the Stuff

Have you ever played one of those, "count the differences in the 2 pictures" games? The pictures look identical and take some real focus and concentration to find the many subtle differences there may be between them. Well, in the pictures above it may be a little easier to find the difference. I'll give you a hint, you don't want to step in it.

Over the last few months, we made a change here at My Father's World - one that might have gone unnoticed by many. On one of our Language Lesson covers we removed the stuff from the ground. That may not seem like much, unless you're physically following the elephant and have to step over or around it, but it cleans up the look of the scenery and the cover overall. This is a microcosm of what we do here every day of the year, not only as a company but also as individual team members. We plan, create, project, implement, and review all of our products before they are placed on our shelves and added to any of the My Father's World curriculum levels. Then every time a book is printed or received from an outside source, it is reviewed again to make sure it matches what we are currently using. This step has saved us countless times from putting a book on our shelves that may look the same on the outside but is actually different or has a mistake in the print. However, even after an item has had its release and been on our shelves for a while, it doesn't stop us from making changes that might be beneficial to our customers and families.

There are a countless number of reasons that we might make changes to any piece of our curriculum. We may find new books that are more relevant than a book we've used in the past. We may find changes in a new version of an old book. This may be as simple as page number changes, but that can trigger a needed change to our Teacher Manuals so that lessons match with the new page numbers. A publisher or creator may have made changes that no longer align with our curriculum and we need to find suitable replacements. Or, as was the case with the stuff on the cover, we may get recommendations from our customers that just make sense for a change to take place.

Our goal will always be to produce products and curriculum that are a direct reflection of our core values. All of us here at My Father's World are Christians and pursue a daily walk with God, but we're also imperfect humans that can make mistakes or miss things. However, those mistakes will never stop us from moving forward with our mission to help people see the world through God's eyes. This company has always been committed to that statement and will continue to do so in the future. So, please be on the lookout for more stuff that needs to be removed.
