Another Week

            Another week has ended and the stock continues to rise for the busy season.  We spend pretty much from the end of December to late June building inventory. Then in July and August it flows right back out. 

Every year it amazes me how much inventory we build up and store during the first 6 months of the year.  It seems almost like we couldn’t sell it in a year.  Then, like someone flicks a switch, it is gone before you even realize it. I see the orders every day and I monitor the flow of inventory constantly in our busy time.  But there is something different in physically seeing it there at one moment and then, “poof” - gone the next.   I’ve often wanted to put a camera in our warehouse to record daily.  Then at the end of the year put it into a fast motion playback and watch the movement of people and the depletion of stock as it goes through those months. 

At this company we run very lean, with regard to man hours and labor.  We do a lot with a little.  Our team works so hard and is so efficient that it makes so many things possible to achieve.  We all come from different places and have different experiences in each of our pasts.  But, for whatever reason God brought each one of us here and together to accomplish so much more than should be possible.  I guess that that is really the thing, none of it should be possible, but with Him all things are possible. 

In my humble opinion, the reason we accomplish so many things here and can do so much with so little, is that He guides us.  Everything we do here, we do with Him as our lead.  Our mornings start off with prayer, our profits go to Bible translation, our core foundational principles are simply Kingdom focused.  We operate as a team, and most of the team is ready at any point to jump from place to another to make sure the goal is accomplished.  We’ve had times through the years that it felt like we would never be able to meet the demand, but every time, somehow, someway, we make it.  Not without effort or hard work - there is never a shortage of that here, but also because God is with us and answers the need whenever it arises. 

Yes, in simplest form we move inventory here, but in the Kingdom we do so much more.  Our curriculum is designed to help families not only learn, but grow in the Spirit of the Lord.  Each book, each item is diligently chosen, and each book researched thoroughly to make sure it aligns with that Kingdom focused direction.  We see reviews and videos on our website, and it reminds each of us why we’re here and who we ultimately serve.  And as for myself, it is the thing at the end of the day that makes me feel like what I’m doing is bigger than me and makes a difference for the kKingdom that I will never be able to truly measure.
