When is American Government studied in the Family Cycle?
During Year 4, Exploration to 1850, the first part of American history is covered and students are introduced to: the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the three branches of government. You read about the process and people involved in forming our government in George Washington's World. This gives a basic overview of how our country's government was formed. A more in-depth study of U.S. government is covered in year 3 of our high school program.
What is the 2nd and 3rd grade supplement for Exploration to 1850?
These are key "living books" from Adventures in My Father's World, designed specifically for 2nd and 3rd graders, to help make history come alive for younger students. All of these books are conveniently scheduled in the Teacher's Manual. They are great books, and you won't want to miss any of them.
